FAQ

  • Are you a certified practitionner ?

I am a certified professionnal in mental health work and crisis response.

While there is currently no professional order for the End-Of-Life or Death Doulas, an official certification is not available at this time but I have successfully completed the Death Doula training with Douglas College.

I also have a bachelor’s degree in biology, physiology and human science.

  • Are your services covered by insurance ?

My services are NOT covered my medical insurance such as MSP at this time.

Some employee’s benefits cover doula services so it is worth checking your extended health benefits.

Typically doula services are privately acquired.

  • Do you only work with women ?

    Yes.

I work with ALL women and women of all ages but chose to work with woman only at this time, when it comes to mental health, healing and spiritual guidance, which is why my platform is curated for women.

However, my EOL services include family and one-on-one discussions with members of all genders.

  • When is the right time to contact an EOL Doula ?

Most people seek EOL services after receiving a diagnosis or approaching end of life.

However, I invite people to talk about death and dying at any stage of life and to work with me to get their advance care planning in place before facing heavy circumstances.

  • Are your EOL services available with MAiD ?

I am here to support the dying and their loved ones regardless of how they choose to embrace Life’s final chapter, therefore my EOL (Enf Of Life) services include support with MaiD (Medical Assistance in Dying).

  • Do your EOL services extend to family members even when the Dying refuses to work with you ? ?

    Absolutely !

I often hear from families feeling stressed and overwhelmed during end-of-life transitions. My role as a doula is to provide guidance and support with calm, compassion and non-judgement, to help you navigate those difficult times.

  • Do you offer care aid or medical services ?

I am NOT a care aid, NOR a medical practitioner, therefore I do not provide medical care, administer medications, or offer legal advice, but can connect you with other professionnals and resources.

My approach is client-centered, non-judgmental and without assumptions. I offer respectful and inclusive guidance, empowering you to make decisions aligned with you and your unique circumstances.

  • Do your EOL services include housekeeping and other household tasks ?

I DO NOT provide any housekeeping or household services but I can help you map out resources, or build and update a care plan to support you at any stage of you or your love one’s journey, making sure that all your basic needs are met with the least amount of stress.

  • I want to feel better but don't want to dig in the past, can you still help me ?

You decide where you want to go and how.

My mental health services are designed to meet you were you’re at and to guide you in finding the right formula that works for you in your day-to-day, which can totally be done without diggin into your past.

Trigger processing work will, however, often bring you to difficult past memories and should only be considered when you feel in capacity for it.
